Application Deadline: 1 September 2025

Overview
Girls Not Brides: The Global Partnership to End Child Marriage is seeking an experienced and passionate consultant (or team of consultants) to lead the development of a strategic advocacy tool titled the “Playbook for Transformative Action to End Child Marriage.” This Playbook will serve as an action-oriented guide to inspire and support collective, gender-transformative advocacy at the global, regional, and national levels.
This consultancy presents an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a global effort that unites over 1,400 organisations across nearly 100 countries working to ensure every girl can live free from child marriage and reach her full potential.
Background and Purpose
Despite years of effort and measurable progress, child, early, and forced marriage and unions (CEFMU) remain a significant global challenge, especially for girls in low- and middle-income countries. A key gap in the field is the lack of a coordinated framework that multiple stakeholders can adopt to drive collective advocacy and action.
The Playbook aims to fill this gap by:
- Synthesizing what is known about what works to end CEFMU.
- Providing real-world case studies and examples that reflect diverse contexts.
- Offering a shared narrative and action guide for governments, civil society, donors, and grassroots organisations.
The tool will consist of two deliverables:
- A concise 4–6 page document featuring key messages, practical examples, and regional case studies.
- A two-page visual summary, designed to support broad distribution and engagement.
Both documents will be neutrally branded and jointly owned by a range of global and local actors, reflecting a shared voice and commitment to ending child marriage.
Scope of Work
The consultant(s) will:
- Work collaboratively with the Girls Not Brides Secretariat to co-design the content structure, methodology, and outreach strategy.
- Review and synthesize existing internal documents, including a zero draft, presentation slides, workshop notes, and key resources provided by Girls Not Brides
- Produce a draft and final version of both the written Playbook and the visual
- summary in collaboration with the design team.
- Incorporate gender-transformative and feminist perspectives into both the content and process of development.
Girls Not Brides Will Provide
- A zero draft of the Playbook and other relevant preparatory materials.
- Draft slides and notes from internal workshops.
- A curated list of interviewees and key resources.
- Interpretation services (where required) for interviews.
- Support with logistics, coordination, and stakeholder outreach.
- Graphic design support for the final visual product (separate from the consultancy budget).
