Residents of Olena in Asa community, Otukpo LGA, Benue State, were forced to evacuate for their lives on Monday night after suspected herdsmen invaded the area.
Online reports claim that the herdsmen have taken over the Asa community, killing a number of villagers and kidnapping others.
As the attackers terrorized the area without any resistance, one of the residents disclosed that the community had been under siege for days.
“I am currently in Upu. I escaped with my family this night. At the moment, we have all vacated our community. Olena has been under attack for days now.
“They have killed and kidnapped several people. We have been crying for help, but no security agents have come to our rescue. I barely managed to escape with my life and my family tonight.
“Olena is under serious attack as we speak,” the anonymous source disclosed.
