Role Overview
The International Strategic Partnerships Lead is a key member of the International Fundraising Team (FR-IO), reporting to the International Fundraising Coordinator. This leadership role focuses on strengthening MSF’s ability to establish, manage, and leverage strategic global partnerships in line with the movement’s fundraising strategy—GPS 3.0 (2024–2030).
The position is central to improving international coordination, ensuring alignment across MSF’s 41 fundraising markets, and expanding engagement with corporates, foundations, major donors, influencers, and thought leaders.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Planning
- Leads the development and refinement of MSF’s global partnership strategy, supporting the implementation of GPS 3.0.
- Conducts in-depth analyses of global fundraising opportunities and gaps in partnership potential.
- Establishes a strategic approach to proactively engage and manage high-value international donors and stakeholders.
Internal Collaboration and Stakeholder Management
- Facilitates cross-functional coordination among MSF offices, ensuring clarity in roles and responsibilities regarding partnership management.
- Chairs the International Corporate Partnerships Committee (ICPC) or its successor following review.
- Maintains strong working relationships with Communities of Practice (CoPs), philanthropy leaders, international finance, and communication units.
External Engagement and Relationship Development
- Identifies and cultivates new global opportunities with corporates, foundations, and high-value individual supporters, where aligned and approved by relevant offices.
- Leads or supports engagement events and initiatives to strengthen global donor relationships.
- Ensures consistency in ethical storytelling, brand alignment, and mission-focused donor engagement.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Develops key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of partnership strategies.
- Continuously evaluates outcomes, making recommendations based on evidence and data insights.
Candidate Profile
Experience and Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years in senior fundraising roles, with demonstrated success in managing multi-market, high-value partnerships.
- Experience handling global accounts including corporate partnerships, cause-related marketing, influencer campaigns, and donor events.
- Academic background in business, marketing, or related fields, or significant relevant experience in complex organisational settings.
- Familiarity with international legal and compliance considerations in partnerships.
