After the alleged victim declined to publicly identify herself, a New York judge dismissed one of the s£xual ass@ult lawsuits against Sean “Diddy” Combs.
According to the ruling, US District Judge Lewis J. Liman dismissed the case on Monday after providing the woman, who was only identified as “Jane Doe,” with an opportunity to resubmit her initial lawsuit using her true name.
The disgraced music mogul was accused by the woman, who filed the first lawsuit last October, of attacking her at a party in 1995 and then hitting her when she turned down his advances.
Despite Combs’ legal team’s objections, her lawyer, Tony Buzbee, filed a motion back in January to proceed with the case anonymously.
However, in order to pursue the case, the judge gave the woman until March 20 to disclose her identity.
“As of today, March 31, 2025, [Doe] has not filed a complaint in her own name, nor has she sought an extension of time to do so,” Liman wrote in his Monday ruling.
The alleged victim and the numerous other people who have accused the founder of Bad Boy Records of abusing them were promptly discredited by Combs’ legal team.
“This is now the second case brought by these attorneys against Mr. Combs that has been dismissed in its entirety,” they said in a statement. “It will not be the last.
“For months, we have seen case after case filed by individuals hiding behind anonymity, pushed forward by attorneys more focused on media headlines than legal merit. The other claims, like the one dismissed today, also will not hold up in a court of law,” they added.
After the deceased rapper was charged with federal s£x trafficking last September, a number of civil lawsuits were filed against him, including the dismissed suit.
Combs is being held without bail in federal custody in Brooklyn after entering a not guilty plea to the federal charges. He is scheduled to go on trial in May.
