The man ignored reconciliatory attempts, chased the WhatsApp group’s admin, and shot him dead. The murder over the WhatsApp group took place in the Regi Safed Sang area on March 7, according to Pakistani media outlets.
The main reason why the murder occurred, Ashfaq, was removed from the WhatsApp group by its admin Mushtaq Ahmed, isn’t known yet. It is also being suggested that there could be a history of enmity between the two but the removal of Ashfaq might have acted as the trigger.
WhatsApp, a cross-platform messaging and calling app, is used as a social media platform in the Indian subcontinent. Humayun, who was an eyewitness to the argument, said that they were on their way to Ashfaq’s residence to settle the issue, but he opened fire on them, according to a report by Tribal News Network, a Peshawar-based news agency.
The two brothers tried to escape and hid at a petrol pump but Ashfaq followed them inside and shot and killed Mushtaq on the spot, according to.
The police have now handed over the victim’s body to his family after a postmortem examination.
