Ronaldo, 40, a Portuguese football player who currently plays for Al-Nassr of the Saudi Pro League, is starting a new company. He will collaborate with 54-year-old filmmaker Matthew Vaughn, who is the director of gangster movies like Snatch and Layer Cake and the producer of Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels.
Through their partnership, Ronaldo and Vaughn will establish UR MARV, an independent film studio that emphasizes “embracing innovative technology with a nod to tradition.”
According to a statement that was uploaded to Ronaldo’s official account on X, the former Twitter, “Matthew Vaughn loves sports, and Cristiano Ronaldo loves movies. They both enjoy a good story.”
With the establishment of UR MARV, an independent joint venture film studio that embraces cutting-edge technology while paying homage to tradition, both disruptive champions will now blend the worlds of storytelling and sport.
Additionally, Vaughan said: “Cristiano is a real-life superhero who has written stories on the field that I could never have written. I look forward to working with him to create inspirational movies.”
