According to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum (PDP-GF), five governors elected on the opposition party’s platform are not in favor of the rumored alliance between Nasir El-Rufai and Peter Obi, the former governors of Kaduna and Anambra states, respectively

In a statement, the forum’s director general, Emmanuel Agbo, claimed that those who do not want the opposition party to succeed are spreading rumors that some PDP governors are allegedly working for politicians outside the party.

He claims that the rumor’s creators want to sow discontent within the PDP in order to establish a one-party state in the nation.

EL RUFAI AND PETER OBI.

“It is clear that these trolls and critics, who are perplexed by the actions taken by PDP governors every day to help the populace escape economic hardship in spite of the intimidation by the ruling APC, are merely scared and are only able to disparage our admirable efforts.

We will not allow these “Enemies of Progress” and “Agents of Confusion” to deceive the Nigerian people into making incorrect and erroneous decisions because rumors and speculations are common in the political sphere.

Equity, social justice, accountability, sincerity of purpose, upholding an uncorrupted electoral process, improving people’s lives, and advancing humanity are among our guiding ideals.

“It suffices for us to declare unequivocally that in 2027, PDP Governors, as disciplined leaders and stakeholders, will demonstrate this by fully backing whoever emerges as our great party’s flag-bearer in the struggle to wrest power away from the underperforming members at the center,” Agbo said.

Therefore, we would like to make it clear that Atiku is still a major, legitimate member of the PDP, the main opposition party.

“Any implication to the contrary is designed to mislead Nigerians about the scope of the massive coalition working to free Nigeria from the APC’s hold.”
